Founder and General Manager - Mr. Andy Loe
|

Founder of elitewushu and former national wushu athlete; multiple medallists at the National Inter-School Competition and the National Wushu Championship. A high performer in academic, sports and leadership, Andy chose to postpone his university education to pursue his dream of promoting wushu by setting up eliteWushu.
Since young, Andy has proven his capability in many areas. Despite his heavy schedule of 6 trainings per week in the national team, Andy managed to excel in his studies. He was also an executive |

committee member in the students’ council and the captain of the wushu team in his secondary school days. In addition, his has always been actively involved in many community projects both local and overseas. His efforts were recognised when he won the prestigious HSBC/NYAA award (merit) in 2001. He emerged top 3% in his military training course and was later commissioned as an Infantry officer. His ability to multi task and excellent management skills won him the commitment of a strong eliteTeam of coaches. His past experience as a student-athlete himself and his coaching experience at the Singapore Sports School over the past 4 years, coaching full time student-athletes has given him insight knowledge of what it takes to help students reach their peak in both academic and wushu. His willingness to go beyond his scope has won him many praises from parents, schools and students. His love for the sport and helping children grow is an invaluable asset to eliteWushu.

Head Coach – Mr. Quek Chun Yang
|
|
Mr Quek was awarded the prestigious ‘Coach Recognition Award’ by the Singapore Sports Council for 2 consecutive years in 2006 and 2007. He has groomed numerous national and regional champions over the past 15 years. As head coach of Tao Nan School, he has led the school to achieve 5 consecutive years of divisional champions at the National Inter- Primary School Wushu Championships since 2005 when wushu was first recognised by the Singapore Primary School Sports Council. All schools which he has coached formerly have won medals at national and school level competitions. |

Having obtained a grade ‘A’ international judge qualification, he has represented Singapore as a judge in numerous regional and international wushu competitions including the SEA Games, ASIAN Games and world championships. A national wushu athlete from 1989-1993, he brought glory to Singapore at various international competitions, including a Bronze Medal at the 17th SEA Games, 1st World Wushu Championship.
At eliteWushu, Mr. Quek oversees the training programme and student-athletes’ route of advancement, in addition to the coaches-mentoring programme. He is patient and has the capability to attract, understand and motivate students to concentrate in trainings and trigger their desire to achieve. He believes in mentoring them to be people of great and respectable character.

Senior Coach – Mr. Eugene Wee
|

A former national wushu athlete and national champion, Mr Wee has groomed several former and current national athletes since he brought competitive wushu into Montfort Secondary School in 1996. In his 2nd year as coach in Montfort, he guided 5 students to achieve top 4 placing in the National Wushu Championship on their first attempt. They were talent spotted in the same year to join the National Team. |

Currently working together with Mr Quek as coach of Tao Nan School, they brought the school to the top in Singapore Schools’ wushu by achieving 4 consecutive years of divisional champion at the National Inter- Primary School Wushu Championship. An inspiring coach, who has the ability to coach with the perfect mix of humour, patience, rigour and reassurance.

Senior Coach – Mr. Quek Chun Huei
|

Mr. Quek started wushu in Hwa Chong Junior College (HCJC) in 1988 and was elected as the President of the Chinese Martial Arts Club in HCJC the following year. A former national wushu athlete and national overall champion, Mr Quek has represented Singapore and achieved numerous gold medals in international competitions such as the ‘World Wushu Championships’. |

His knowledge is not only limited to competitive and traditional wushu routines. He has formerly participated and choreographed in major events such as the ‘World Wushu Display’ and the ‘Singapore Arts Festival’. In 1996, he was also involved in the filming of the ‘Wushu Introductory Programme’ by the Ministry of Education, CDIS branch. Mr. Quek’s passion for the sport is so strong that he gave up a highly paid job as a civil servant to peruse his dream to guide and promote wushu to the younger generation. Mr. Quek spends his time effectively on transferring the most updated skills and knowledge to his students. He has also been a very well liked coaching mentor as he never failed to give good advice to coaches on internship. His professionalism and dedicated style of teaching won him the respect from many of his students and their parents.

Coach – Miss Lee Wen Xin
|
|
Miss Lee was first selected to be in the National Team at a tender age of 14. In 2001, she became the youngest female wushu exponent to represent Team Singapore in the 21st SEA Games at the age of 17. Miss Lee holds the record of being the only female athlete since 2003 to have achieved a medal at the SEA Games, cudgel event after her clinging of a Bronze Medal for Team Singapore. She was carded as an ‘A2’ athlete the following year by the Singapore Sports Council. One of her most prestigious and notable opportunities was to undergo full time intensive trainings at ‘Shi Sha Hai’ Wushu School, home of the Beijing Wushu Team, which was also the wushu team, movie star Jet Li came from. |

With multiple gold medals at national and international wushu championship under her belt, Miss Lee often has many experiences to share with her students. She is a patient and dedicated coach who use useful ideas from her own extensive experience to guide children and youth in the learning of wushu and its values.

Coach – Mr. Chng Chit Kiong
|

A national wushu athlete from 1998-2004 and multiple gold medallist at the National Wushu Competitions. He represented Singapore and achieved medals for several competitions including the Beijing Invitational Competitions and Shanghai World Grand Wushu Festival. He has also represented Team Singapore at the 21st and 22nd SEA Games in 2001 and 2003. He has trained under many well known local and Chinese coaches during his days as a national athlete, hence accumulating vast of experience and knowledge in various style of wushu. |

Mr. Chng is a dedicated and professional coach who constantly seeks to improve himself in the area of coaching. Under extreme pressure, he is able to deliver results when necessary. His humorous and patient personality makes him a very approachable person.

Coach – Miss Wang Jue
A professional wushu athlete and coach to the Chinese People’s Armed Forces from 1987-1997. She was also an overall champion in the ‘Shanghai City Wushu Championship’ from 1988-1992. At international level, she participated in the World Wushu Champion in 1992 and she has represented Shanghai City wushu team at numerous exchange programmes to Europe and Asia. A very professional and friendly coach, she is well liked by many parents and students. Her principle in coaching is to nurture students into confident and proficient athlete with good moral values.

Coach - Miss Zhou Shuzhi
A tai-chi specialist, Miss Zhou was ranked 2nd in tai-chi at the Fujian University Games in 2006. She has numerous competition exposures and has won in various provincial wushu competitions held in China. Since her arrival, she has guided all our tai-chi students to national top 4 positions at the National Inter-Schools Competition. Miss Zhou adapts a systematic approach in her teaching which enables students to develop good wushu fundamentals. The vast of experience which she has brought from China is invaluable to her students.

Coach – Mr. Lawrence Chua
A former national wushu athlete from 1994-1996, Mr Chua was a multiple medallist at the National Wushu Competitions. His overseas competition experiences include the Malaysia International Nanyang Wushu & Golden Lion Dance Festival and the ZhengZhou (China) International ShaoLin Wushu Festival. His love and enthusiasms for wushu has always been the reason why many students followed him faithfully all these years to learn wushu.

Coach – Mr. Ivan Teo Kia Meng
Mr Teo started wushu at a later age of 15 compared to his peers. Nevertheless, his perseverance and discipline paid off at the National Wushu Championship in 1998 when he was recruited to the National team after achieving a 6th position in his first wushu competition. One of the many outstanding ‘product’ of our Head coach, Mr. Quek and our Senior Coach, Mr. Wee, he later went on to represent Singapore and won numerous medals in overseas competitions including a 4th position in the 22nd SEA Games in 2003 and a 8th position in the 7th World Wushu Championship in the same year. He was also crowned the National Overall Champion in 2002 and 2004. A professional and dedicated coach, he ensures that every lesson, students will learn something new and remembers them. His approach to attract students is through innovative ways of learning with a soft mix of humour and creativity with good discipline.

Coach – Mr Loo Chia Teck
National wushu athlete, national champion, Team Singapore representative in numerous international wushu championships; Another outstanding ‘product’ of our Head coach, Mr. Quek and our Senior Coach, Mr. Wee. A top achiever in both sports and academic, Mr. Loo manages his time very well between coaching, studies and training. Many students look up to him as a role model. Mr. Loo is a committed and dedicated coach who believes that every child is an unpolished diamond waiting for him to help them shine. He is able to understand and communicate with his students and his teaching style is simple yet easy to comprehend. |
